No, we are not vegan, but we never turn down an opportunity to try any cuisine. So, when Ming’s Cuisine invited us to try their vegan Chinese dishes, our answer was, ‘yes!’ Vegan Chinese? Honestly, I never knew it existed. Could it make us forget the flavours of our much-loved dishes? The answer was another resounding ‘YES!’ Their food was banging! And you know we know a thing or two about Chinese food. If you are celebrating Veganuary, you need to try Ming’s Cuisine.
About Ming’s Cuisine
Ming’s Cuisine is a vegan-friendly Chinese restaurant, the only one of its kind on Balham High Road. Their chefs from Hong Kong and Shanghai have created an exquisite menu, serving up many classic dishes with authentic flavours and textures, using plant-based alternatives for meat, fish, and seafood.
What We Ate At Ming’s Cuisine
The dishes are so tasty, certified meat lovers like us didn’t miss a thing. The dishes had vibrant colours, traditional textures, crispy, sticky and soft in all the right places. I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t what we had. Days later I was still thinking about the food. It’s on my list of places to revisit.
Based on the dishes we tried, I can tell you, expect dishes like the following:
- Salt and Pepper Tofu
- Crispy Aromatic Duck
- Sichuan Veg Dumplings in Chilli Oil
- Vegan Crispy Shredded Beef
- Stir-fried Lamb with Cumin and Chilli
Prices range from £5.90 for Hot & Sour Soup, £8.90 for Sichuan Veg Dumplings in Chilli Oil and Crispy Aromatic Duck 1/4 £14. The ambience is family-friendly, and good service.
VISITOR TIP: Battersea Park and Tooting Common. Alternatively, grab a pint at The Bedford or browse Hildreth Street Market (if it’s a market day)
