I recently attended the launch of Tootilab’s fifth product, the Extreme Weather Styling Water. The brand itself was launched in 2024. That event was close to Christmas, and it was a fun night out in Hammersmith. We had a puzzle quiz about natural curly hair, of course, and learnt about the products. We all left with samples to try. I showed the results I achieved on my TWA at the time. Now I’m growing out my ‘fro, the Extreme Weather Styling Water could not have come at a better time. Everyone knows UK weather is temperamental, damp and windy. This will be the 5th product in the Tootilab collection. You’ll know it’s a styler because the collection is colour-coded in burgundy, which was the dress code for the launch of the new styler. So, what’s the difference between the All Weather Gel and the Extreme Weather Styling Water, you ask? Read on.
About Tootilab
Firstly, Tootilab is for everyone. Its ethos is embedded in the name! The name Tootilab comes from the Italian word ‘tutti’, meaning ‘everyone’, and its formulas are science-led. The brand caters for all curl types: from waves to tight coils and is not exclusive to any gender, ethnicity, age. Everyone is welcome to on the natural hair journey.
The brand was founded by Gaia Tonanzi, who is originally from Italy and Julio Quintana. It was officially launched in 2024, and as I mentioned earlier, I attended the launch. My daughter and I have been using Tootilab ever since. We both enjoy a wash and go but only chill days I do a twist out hairstyle.
Extreme Weather Styling Water
The Extreme Weather Styling Water is a styler that delivers long-lasting definition and the frizz control of a strong-hold gel with the weightless, water-thin consistency of a serum. The innovative formula glides through hair without weighing down waves or curls, making high-performance hold more accessible, especially for finer textures.
The Styling Water defines curls and controls frizz for longer, even in the eye of the storm. It also has a patented mood-lifting fragrance technology (headnote: lemon and waterlily, heart notes: clary sage and marine, base notes: cedarwood, amber, abelmosk seeds)
How I Used The Extreme Weather Styling Water
I used the Extreme Weather Styling Water as an alternative to Tootilab’s All Weather Gel. When I wanted longer-lasting curls, I applied the Styling Water to clean, damp hair that already had leave-in conditioner. You can apply the styler after washing your hair. However, for drier curly, coily hair, the leave-in conditioner will help the hair to maintain moisture. I mainly use the styler on hair wash day.
I wash my hair once per week and alternate between leaving my hair loose on wash day and a mid-week ponytail, updo or cornrow hairstyle. When I spritz my hair with water, the styling water is reactivated.
RESULTS: The Styling Water is the product I didn’t know I needed. My hair has minimal frizz, is light, bouncy and smells amazing!
TIPS: If you accidentally use too much, just spritz hair with water to weaken hold. BUT!
The crunchier your hair becomes while it dries, the longer your definition and frizz control will last. This state is temporary: once the hair is fully dry, you can gently scrunch to soften it.
My results have been 10 out of 10 results every time. My curls are ready for autumn winds!
