If you have teens or young adults in your home, it’s likely you will only see them at meal times. I woke up in the morning and the little children I used to blog about are now teenagers. How the years have whizzed by eh? One loves YouTube the other is into gaming. Hubby and I have made family walks/outings a must on weekends to stay connected. Nonetheless, when they are in their rooms they have their creature comforts as do we. Recently we were offered the opportunity to review a So Chill Mini Fridge. I welcomed the opportunity because I have been curious about mini fridges for some time, for my skincare. Being a good sport, so to speak, gave my kids the mini fridge to try. They have been chilling their juices and choccies in the So Chill Mini Fridge for over one week.
So Chill
So Chill is a Creator brand of Canal Toys. Canal Toys is headquartered in France but has offices in the US, China, and Spain. The brand continues to grow in the UK, always bringing fun innovative products to the market. Spring 2023, the portable mini fridge landed, to solve the problem of unenticing warm drinks.
So Chill Teal Mini Fridge
We were sent the Teal So Chill Mini Fridge, RRP £39.99. It’s bright cutesy shade that brightens up any space it’s in.
Inside the product package, you will receive 1 Mini Fridge, 1 USB Cable, 1 sticker sheet (for personalisation), and the instruction sheet. Additionally product specifications; Depth: 20CM, Height: 29 CM and Width: 29 CM. The fridge is targed to the 8+ years age market.
Manufacturer Guidelines: Adult supervision at all times. Not suitable for children under 3 years. It is recommended to use the fridge in a room at room temperature between 18 and 25C. Do not use the refrigerator outside under extreme conditions (temperatures close to 0C or over 30C under rain or direct sunlight)
The fridge has a vision window and a sleek handle that moves up and down to open and close the fridge. Inside the fridge, there is a removable shelf and door pocket.
Our Thoughts On The Mini Fridge
The So Chill’s Mini Fridge has sleek, compact design. It can fit on a desk or bedside table and takes 4L making it perfect to use at home and on the go. The fridge is powered via a USB cable and works on 10W. At home, power up by plugging it into a plug socket with a USB socket.
When you are on the go a So Chill’s Mini Fridge can be powered with portable memory bank. It’s lightweight weight and can fit in a large tote bag or under your arm. The product is suitable for gamers, influencers, skincare and beauty mavens, as well as students.
We liked the personalisation feature with stickers. Decorate the fridge it to suit your aesthetic or keep it plain. Our teal fridge is a cheerful colour that didn’t need glam up but did for this review. The kids chose fun slogans and icons to jazz on the fridge door.
The fridge is best for teens and young adults. It’s the perfect pressie for a birthday, Christmas or ‘just because’. Drinks and face masks are kept chilled. However, if it’s only for skincare, knowing how much I have a slightly bigger fridge would be best for 30+ consumers.
How We Used The Mini Fridge
After unboxing the So Chill Mini Fridge, it takes roughly one hour to get chilled. The kids stocked small boxes of juice, chocolate eggs, and a variety of sheet masks, in theirs. They put them in at night and by the next morning, everything was chilled.
After one week, I switched off the mini fridge, unplugged and wipped it out . I left the door open to allow it to get back to room temperature. When it was room temperature, I powered it up again using a power bank. I left it for two hours by which time it was fully chilled. I did this jus to test if the power bank would work as effectively. Now the mini fridge is back to being plugged into a USB socket in the wall at home.
