The kids had half-term break from school this week. I thought it would have been an easy carefree week. Instead it was a week of constant activity and social engagements. While we all had fun, it’s safe to say by Sunday we are were all ready for downtime. This week was a happy cheerful one.
Day Out With Kids
Hubby took two days off so we could have a couple family day trips. We went to Innocent Fruity Towers together for their Sow and Grow campaign
We also met friends at Chessington Zoo. It was a blast! Valentina was so brave. She was off on her own playing along the Amazu treetop adventure area. It great the kids are at an age where they can explore in a safe environment on their own.
Mummy’s Night Out
On evening I attend the An Evening with Beunique, at Primo Bar, in Park Plaza Hotel. It was a lovely stylish venue. It was a fun, inspirational, thought-provoking evening. The message was all about the affirming black beauty, womanhood and entrepreneurship. The ingenious, stunning, fun-loving blogging duo CurltureUK hosted the event. My highlights were the spoken word performance by Silhouettez in the Dark. Then Uchenna Dance got us up and dancing it was the best ‘ice-breaker’ EVER!! Not that the room was icy one iota.
The founder of Beunique, Belinda Raji spoke passionately about her natural hair and brand creation journey. The evening was in aid of raising funds for the charity Echo which supports the family ‘support for children and young people with heart conditions who receive treatment at the Evelina Children’s Hospital and the outreach clinics at local General Hospitals attended by Evelina Cardiologists.’ They also extend a lifeline to their family and carers. The charity is close to Belinda’s heart because her own family have received support from the Echo, while her daughter receives treatment. I’m a big fan of her brand.
Beunique’s Shea Bliss is a staple hair product of mine. Sitting in the audience I realise I’ve never reviewed product although I rave about it to my friends and family. I promise to rectify that as soon as I can but for now I say this is one of the best multi-tasking hair products I’ve found so far. Best of all its handmade.
had a mini craft shopping haul at Poundland. There stocks are improving all the time. I was amazed to find flower pressed paper, self-adhesive gems AND glitter sheets. If you have little girl in your family you will now that glitter is usually a hit. I’m looking forward to getting Valentina more into craft, even if it’s only a little bit in comparison to Angelo and me.
