A couple weeks ago I attended the Next Blogger Network Event. I was super excited to attend. At the last event back in 2013 I truly motivated. I was inspired to take my blog to the next level. I revamped the look and slowly built up my networking confidence. This years’ event was just as inspirational. On the panel were:
- Samantha Maria – Beauty Crush
- Danielle- Idle lane
- Jen Stanbrook- Love Chic Living
- Rosie Fortescue- At Fashion Forte
It was a pleasant informal event. Each panellist spoke on their area of expertise. However, the key message I took away from the panel discussion was to write about what I’m passionate about in my authentic voice and to mix my up my social media and blog. They also raised a very valid point, the usefulness of collaborations. Both Danielle and Rosie work with photographers. It’s an excellent way for a blogger to capture the perfect shot. I’m thinking a MUA or nail technician and beauty blogger collaboration would be awesome too! Although, the best bit was meeting new bloggers.
I truly enjoy meeting and chatting to younger blogger. I admire their confidence and commitment to building their brand. Amongst the lovely ladies I met was my new NBN Buddy Anika May of Its Anika May blog. We chatted about all blogging, style, the 9-5 and living up north and so on. Imagine my delight to find out that we had won the prize for the NBN Buddy at the event. It would have been amazing if we lived closer go to shopping. It’s been a while since I’ve had a shopping trip. Twice lucky my Next gift voucher arrived a few days before my birthday. Hubby took a day off and off we went for child-free shopping trip/brunch date.
Prior to our brunch date hubby and I popped into Next for my mini shopping haul. While shopping for me, he heavily hinted how much he loved the Khaki Four Pocket Quilted Jacket. He did look quite handsome in it. I guess that will be his Xmas/New Year’s pressie. I had to find a semi-formal out fit for a project I was due to work on.
I also wanted to be frivolous and the kids something nice not something they needed. I wanted something colourful for Angelo. Sadly I was unable to find pieces exactly as he may have wanted but I did find fun pieces. As for Valentina, it was difficult to decide but in the end I found her to cute timeless pieces.
So what did I purchase… here are few of the pieces that bought on the day, for the kids and I.
And here’s what I bought for the kids. They were happy with my choices but I could tell Valentina was more excited about the tee than the dress. Next time I will go for something more princess-like as I originally planned to do. I know she would love this tutu Grey 3D Flower Tutu or a dress Jewel Dress
