I don’t wear makeup on a daily basis. I mainly wear makeup for events and special occasions because my daily life is all about the school run, house chores and gym… sexy right? I have mature sensitive skin, which is why I value a good skincare regime. When I wear makeup, I opt for mineral makeup. Mineral makeup is meant to be better for the skin. Recently, I was sent a selection of foundation samples and a lipstick by Momineral Makeup. The products were to be trailled for the purpose of this review. I loved the products from the start but when the complements started coming in, I knew Momineral Makeup was a keeper. Mominera Makeup gave me a natural looking healthy glow.
About Momineral Makeup
Momineral Makeup was created by Omolara Tayo Sobajo for African and Caribbean women. Omolara holds a degree in Microblogy and MBA. However it was her experience as a freelance makeup artist that allowed her to see the limitations of major brands for women of colour.
The brand’s mission is:
To provide the Dark Skin with top quality makeup products that gives true match and a healthy glow.
The promise; mineral foundations will improve the appearance of your skin over time without leaving your skin pores clogged or clumpy.
Sensitive Skin and Makeup
Momineral Makeup products are Halal friendly except for mascara that contains alcohol. It’s also perfect for treating skin disorders such as acne, breakouts, eczema, rosacea and hyperpigmentation which is a comfort to me.
As you know I have sensitive skin that’s prone to mild eczema flare ups. From my experience, Momineral Makeup certainly achieved their mission.
Foundations (RRP£18); out of the samples that I trialled my perfect match was the Umuhle Shade which is from the Light Tan category. A little went a long way. Once applied it disappeared into my skin, gave good coverage and mad my yellow undertone shine through. Wearing Momineral Makeup foundation, I felt like my natural self.
My face didn’t feel ‘made up’. I used it with and without face primer and still loved the results. I only applied finishing powder if I would be out for several hours. No matter how I wore it my complexion always looked flawless and photo ready.
Momineral’s lipsticks (RRP£17)have a stunning depth and dimensions. There are six vibrant shades to choose from. They all have a mild sparkly pearlised finish. I received the shade Pure which is an orangish-copper red colour, perfect for a statement lip.
I used it for dressy evening events, as well as on casual days out complimented by minimal eye makeup. The lipstick had a rich creamy consistency. My lips felt moisturised. The high pigmented colour lasted for several hours.
Momineral Makeup lipsticks are 100% natural & organic oil, vegan waxes and minerals that revitalize the lips.

AD (gifted not paid) In the summer there are two types of foundation that I use. It’s either One and Done complexion perfector OR @momineralmakeup mineral powder foundation. The latter I prefer to use when on hot summer days. It fits my complexion to the T, doest of my pores and makeup look effort less. It’s also a complexion perfector. I was also gifted their radiance face cream which I use as a primer. Swipe left to see the looks I’ve created. My foundation shade is Umuhle. #mineralmakeup #mominerals #ukbrand #blackowned #umuhle #msxpat #brownbeauty #40plusbeauty #makeforblackwomenuk #wocbeautyuk #40plusblogger #bblogger #lblogger
