I no longer have the stick figure of my 20’s. Add marriage, 2 kids and 20 years and I’m now a curvy lady. As a curvy lady, its not always easy to just pick something off the rack at the clothing store. I now have to make the effort to try on the item that’s caught my fancy to ensure it fits well. Hence, I’m not always up for clothing shopping anymore. I tend to buy things on impulse. If I see something that speaks to me and from across the crowded shop floor, I’ll try it on. If it fits more often than not, I will get buy it. I’m a big fan of Oasis Fashion. I find their sizes and the cut of their dress to be very flattering for me. I recently spotted a bright coral maxi dress at the Oasis Fashion, Bentall Centre, Kingston and it was love at first sight!
I especially hate clothes shopping at during sales. I don’t longer have the time or leisure to go through the racks properly with two little ones in tow. However a few seeks ago while searching or a jacket for a wedding, I spotted a beautiful bright coral maxi dress on the Oasis shop floor. Jacket? What jacket?! I found a size 16. Hoping that my additional weight gain would not cause me to lose on this dress. I tried it on, and it was PERFECTION. If I do say so myself. I like colours that are bright and enhance the yellow undertone of my skin. SO I bought the dress not knowing where I’d wear it. As it turns out the weather was lovely last Saturday, so I wore my Oasis maxi dress to the Natural Hair Week London event, which was held at the Thistle Hotel, Marbel Arch.
Here’s why I love the dress my bright coral maxi dress:
– vibrant coral shade
– armholes are just the right size and cut to flatter the shoulder and upper arm area
– its a maxi dress but only lined up to the 3 inches about the knee the over dress has slits at both sides from floor to knee
-the bodice slightly buffs over the waistline, then flows into tiny accordion pleats which makes me look slimmer
– its fun and flirty but classy
I themed my Oasis maxi dress with a flat pinkish-coral strappy sandal, a rectangular clutch purse with a bold African print, floral accessories for my hair, along with gold necklaces and earrings. I went for a semi formal look and this is it.
