I never make new resolutions on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day. I take at least two weeks to decide on my focus for the year. Chinese New Year falls on 17th February, in 2026. It will be the Year of the Horse, with the element of fire. If, like me, you are still refining your plans for the New Year, perhaps embracing the Chinese New Year tradition of ‘Climb high, gaze far’ will help to clear your mind and set your intentions. People flock to London for the parade, which is one of the largest celebrations outside of China. During the COVID-19 lockdown, there were no festivities. Since the world opened up again, the celebrations have returned to their usual lustre. I’m not a fan of large crowds. I prefer visiting small town celebrations. In 2026, there will be celebrations in a few Surrey towns.
Chinese New Year Fire Horse
The Horse is the 7th animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac signs, coming after the Snake. 2026 will be the Year of the Fire Horse .This period is believed to usher in a time of optimism and opportunity. The Fire element adds intensity, passion and dynamic energy to the year, making it particularly suited to ambitious projects and bold decisions. It is believed that the year of the horse is a time of investor confidence and economic growth.
In 2025, we already saw signs of it, but in 2026, the year of the horse, is linked to advancements in artificial intelligence and technology.
