Pizza is always a hit with the kids, well, for all in the family actually. It’s excellent for a quick mid-week dinner, end of week as a treat and any time you feel for something quick and easy, just add salad sort of meal. My family and I recently tried the Limited Edition Takeaway BBQ Sizzler pizza and the Deep Dish Ham & Pineapple, by Chicago Town. They were so yummy scrummy and truly on a takeaway level, if not better.
Hubby and I had the Chicago Town Takeaway BBQ Sizzler. Despite the fact that I over-cooked it a little, the pizza was still moist and saucy. Here’s why, it has: sweet and smokey BBQ sauce, mozzarella, chorizo, red onions, red and yellow peppers and BBQ sauce in the stuffed crust. The pizza had a good distribution of ingredients which not only made it pleasing to the eye but taste great! Tid bit: ‘It’s quickly frozen as it is made and is never pre-baked’. I think this also gives it the fresh authentic taste. It’s such a delicious beauty with the vibrant yellows and reds of the sweet peppers it would be perfect to share at fun summer gatherings.
The kids had the Chicago Town mini Deep Dish Ham & Pineapple pizza. In the deep dish range there is a good selection to toppings to choose from, including a Limited Edition Ham & Cheese. However, I could not find that it. So we opted for the former as both Angelo and Valentina like those toppings. Although it didn’t stop Valentina from trying to pinch her Dad’s and mine chorizo sausages from our BBQ Sizzler. Classic pizza lovers will like this combo. It’s topped with juicy pineapple, diced ham and mozzarella cheese ‘for an epic Hawaiian classic’. ‘What makes the deep dish pizzas tasty from brim to base is the unique dish-shaped pizza base, and top to overflowing with tomato sauce cheeses and the toppings’. These pizzas are also perfect for freezing. There is also a good distribution of ingredients on these pizzas. The ingredients were diced small enough for Valentina to pick off bits with her tiny fingers to munch. She also ate the crust as it was quite tasty with the sauce. Angelo had one mini pizza. He said it was “Nice”. Valentina had half of the other, she can’t speak yet but from her enthusiasm when eating I knew she liked it.
