It’s been two years since the last NBN event and I was thrilled to receive invitation to attend the 2017 instalment, a few weeks ago. I didn’t even think about it, my response was an instant ‘YES!’ Then the panic about the school run and child care popped into my head. OMG it was the weekend hubby would be away. Deep breathe called in a favour, got myself super organized, on the day I was ready on the day! The event was held at the trendy ACE Hotel, in Shoreditch, London.  NBN Events always hits the mark and I left feeling empowered to step-up of my Instagram game.

On arrival– I said my hellos, took some selfies (as you do), with a glass of prosecco in hand I entered the workshop area. I was there for the Instragram workshop and I was able to speak to Monica Beatrice Welburn before her first presentation.

During- Monica’s session on ‘Achieving Instagram Success’ was excellent. Monica was very warm and approachable. Her delivery was engaging and effortless. I learnt so much in her 20 minutes session.  She touched on many of my areas of concern. I felt lit by the end of it. My favourite take away points were: use Instagram for mini blog posts, create a prop box (since then I’ve been like a scavenger collecting leaves, berries, paper all sorts) and using regrams to bolster my profile.  I’ve always tried not upload wordy Instagram posts. Monica’s tips have liberated me to use my account in a more meaningful way. I also met some new bloggers!  Jessica Anne, Jenni Frost and I were all queuing to have our nails done by the WAH Girls and we got to chatting about our kids, blogging, nails and the NBN Network of course. Renee (Peonie and Me) I met after the Instagram session. We both tried our hands at creating striking flat lays. I was also able to FINALLY met fellow expat blogger Elfa (California Mum in London)

Departure– favours only stretch so far. Sadly I had to leave before the Q&A with Anna Edit, Lily Pebbles, Chloe Digital, Monica Beatrice and Niomi Smart. If you are currently a member of the Next Blogger Network then you certainly should login to read their responses and if you are not, why now?! Do register and join in the fun.

Thank you Next for another amazing NBN event!
