I recently attended Boots #feelgood Christmas beauty event. My son thinks Boots is my favourite place and that’s where I buy my lipsticks. It’s true, I do shop there often but for more than lipsticks. So it was with pleasure I attended to see what my favourite brands had in store for the festive season. The overarching vibe that brought all the brands together was glamour, glitz, champagne and well-being.

The experience began with Lou Peterson, Head of Brand Development, showcasing Boots’ top 10 products. My top five out of those were:

  1. No7 City Lights Beauty Collection (£80)
  2. Soap & Glory Foam & For-Tune (£16)
  3. Soap & Glory Kohl-eyed-scope (£10)
  4. Jack Willis Blanket Scarf Gift Set (£50)
  5. Champneys’s Heavenly Days Relaxing and Sleep Gift (£30).

No 7 Christmas collection embodies the fun, panache and vibrancy of big city night life. Elegant black, shiny silver, glittering yellow and champagne golds in the packaging gave a luxurious feel. There is something for every pocket. The Limited Edition Classic Brow Kit will come in a cute champagne gold travel case (£12). It would make a good stocking filler. While their stunning Advent Calendar will win the heart of any beauty addict. It contains skin care and beauty products. Being a winter baby myself the Advent Calendar (£39) would make generous birthday gift that would deliver daily thrills until Christmas. As a Christmas gift it will bring cheer into the New Year.

Boots Christmas is not complete without the enchantments of Soap & Glory. Every Christmas I wait with anxiously to see what new thrills they would bring out. Although their lips are sealed about whether or not any surprises are waiting in the wings there was lots to see on the day. I gave their Kohl-eyed-oscope (£10) a gold star. The fully functional glittery pink kaleidoscope contains three soft eyeliners named ‘Crazy Sexy Kohl’, ‘Smoulder, Foil In Love’ and ‘What A night’.  It will bring the fun factor to a secret Santa gift exchange. While their melody playing gift box Foam & For-Tune is ideal for the bathroom singer. It’s packed with various bath and shower delights.

As a lady of a certain age, I was eager visit the Liz Earle counter. Gift-wise I adore their personalised naturally activeTM skincare gift set. It contains eight compartments each with a product from the naturally activeTM botanical range. Gold star here. While their Botanical Essence No 9 is a show stopper. The fragrance is a heady combination of woody, citrus and musky sensualness. Key ingredients include blackcurrant bud, patchouli, vetiver and red ginger. It’s the essence of a confident woman. On a personal note, I was pleased to learn about the SuperskinTM range. ‘It was designed to visibly plump and smooth skin.’ On my wish list is the SuperskinTM Eye Cream, its rich but absorbs quickly into the skin. It will work well as a primer before eye makeup. It promises to ‘lift and firm the delicate eye contour, while reducing the appearance of puffiness and dark circles.’ This product will come in the Liz Earle EyebrightTM Gift (£35) which will also contain a headband, Eyebright Soothing Lotion and Eyecare Guide.

As you can imaging being a mum of two little ones, a good night’s sleep and ‘me time’ is precious.  I popped by Champneys’ stand for a better view of the sleep pack. One of the key ingredients is lavender. If you’ve seen my photos from my trip to the lavender field in Banstead, you know I LOVE lavender! Champneys Heavenly Days Relaxing and Sleep Gift comes in a pretty lavender and ivory woven basket containing with; pillow mist, sleep temple balm, Bubble Heaven, Butter Souffle and an eye mask. Gold star. I also liked the Champneys Cracker Collection (£10) which contains; two shower creams, a shower gel and body lotion. Lovely as a stocking filler.

I also spotted some pressies that got the thumbs up from me, in the Boots Christmas gift guide. There’s: Nyx Cosmetics (Advent Calendar £60), Zoelle On My Travels Rucksack (incl. pencils, travel mug, keyring £50), Mr. Men Mr Grumpy Mug & Socks (£10) and Marley Smile Jamaica In-Ear Headphones (£19.99, the brand promises ‘The music shines through ….’ ) If all of the above wasn’t enough, Boots will also offer a personalising service. There will be a personalised gift wrap and ribbon and beauty gifts can be personalised with an image or name. These are all available on the hour service.  (My event goodie bag had a Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum with my name one it. It was a sweet touch.) Before leaving I had time for a few beauty treats. Many thanks to the ladies at Nyx Cosmetics and Essie Nails for looking after me.
