As you know Hubby, Valentina and I all suffer with eczema. I’m careful what skincare products I buy for us. Most times Hubby and Valentina use unscented gentle soaps. I do love the smelly stuff, so I tend to treat myself a few times in the week with products from brands I trust. Recently I saw and advert by Babylon Tree for a review opportunity of their handmade soaps. They use ingredients from 100% natural sources. I pitched for the review opportunity and I was fortune to be selected. I chose Babylon Tree’s Manuka Honey & Oats – Shea Butter Soap artisan soap to trial for this review. We all loved it! Babylon Tree’s Manuka Honey & Oats – Shea Butter Soap was soothing to our eczema prone skin.

Babylon Tree is a UK brand. While they source ingredients from various parts of the world their products are quality tested and packaged in the UK. Their product range covers artisan soaps, essential oils, bath and shower accessories.  The soaps are vegan friendly, free from SLS/SLES and palm free. 100 grams of Babylon Tree’s artisan soaps RRP£4.25. Currently, they have six soaps to choose from:

  • Tea Tree & Matcha – Shea Butter Soap
  • White Musk & Sandalwood – Shea Butter Soap
  • Lavender & Seeds – Shea Butter Soap
  • Litsea Cubeba & Bergamot – Shea Butter Soap
  • Manuka Honey & Oats – Shea Butter Soap
  • Patchouli & Charcoal – Shea Butter Soap

I trialled the Manuka Honey & Oats – Shea Butter Soap which was featured  Tatler Magazine, June-July 2017 issue. I chose that soap because it contains two ingredients I use in Hubby’s and Valentina’s bath soak, when their skin flares up; shea butter and oats.  The key ingredients in Babylon Tree’s Manuka Honey & Oats – Shea Butter Soap are; aqua, shea butter, vegetable Glycerine, Manuka honey and oats. The soap is a rich, creamy soap and lathers well but not too frothy as soaps with sulphates can be. Hubby, Valentina and I have been using it for almost two weeks. Every time I showered with the soap my skin felt soft, supple, clean but not stripped. Although I would recommend it, I did notice that even if I don’t apply lotion to my skin after the shower hours later my skin still looks and feels hydrated. On Val’s, I noticed the eczema behind her knees was slowly getting better. Hubby enjoyed using the soap too. His eczema never goes away but I did notice the soap didn’t cause any additional irritation. This is definitely one to have for the cold months ahead.

We were really pleased with the Babylon Tree’s Manuka Honey & Oats – Shea Butter Soap and should use it again. Visit the Babylon Tree website for more information on their products. You can use code: XDX5ZT on your next purchase for a discount.
